A Home Worth Protecting

Climate change is harming the human rights of millions of people around the world, particularly those already marginalised – many in this region we call home. People face hunger, drought, loss of lives, homes and their livelihoods. Behind these impacts is the global political and economic system that puts profit before people and planet. A system that is creating multiple crises of climate breakdown, spiralling economic inequality, gender discrimination and humanitarian disasters – interlinked crises that are reaching a crescendo.

A system that is perpetuated and controlled by the richest and most powerful countries, people and corporations, and leaves women, indigenous people, and other oppressed groups at the bottom of the exploitation spectrum. Pacific peoples have had to carry the weight of this crisis, a crisis they did not create. This campaign centres this truth within the wider recognition that justice must be served and that the campaign to preserve the Blue Pacific, protect our homes, and promote justice for the living planet is necessary, now more than ever.

Make Rich Polluters Pay

The climate crisis is unfolding before our eyes — devastating lives and livelihoods across the world. But the burden isn’t shared equally. Those who did the least to cause this crisis—people living in poverty, Indigenous peoples, and people of colour—are paying the highest price. Discrimination means that it’s often women who pay the highest price, while young people everywhere are seeing their futures stolen. All the while the richest people and corporations are plundering the planet and polluting for profit, leaving the rest of us to deal with the consequences. But it doesn’t have to be this way. A fairer, more sustainable future is possible—one where communities on the frontlines have the resources to survive extreme weather, rebuild, and thrive. The biggest polluters, who have fuelled this crisis while amassing obscene wealth, must pay for the damage they’ve caused. We can raise the trillions needed to tackle the climate crisis—if we make rich polluters pay.

Say 'Enough'

Every minute of the day, violence is devastating the lives of millions of women and girls around the world. It is a global crisis, already affecting one in three women in their lifetime, devastating their lives and fracturing communities.

Violence against women and girls knows no boundaries of geography or culture - but those living in poverty face higher levels of abuse. It is rooted in the inequality between men and women that women and girls face throughout their livesSome believe that violence toward women and girls is not their business. Some believe it is even normal. Many don’t challenge it – even if they think it’s not acceptable. But everywhere in the world, people are standing up and speaking out. Women’s rights organizations are already saving lives in tackling violence against women and girls. We stand with them to call for all women, men, girls and boys to say ‘Enough’ to violence against women and girls.

Together we can change these harmful beliefs. What is learned can be unlearned. We can all help stop violence against women in our everyday lives. By speaking out, by discussing the issue on social media, in public and at home, we can improve people’s understanding of the matter and challenge attitudes and beliefs. Join the conversation and help us spread the word!
